Backwards wiring

Twice I did it backwards.   :P  Last night after finishing my wiring, fired up a game of Dig Dug.  Pushed up went down, pushed down went up, pushed left...you get the idea.

Oh by the way thanks for this board and all who've helped me out with my questions.  Cabs almost done.

Wire them backwards?  As in switching NO with NC?

Or do you mean directions? If that then no, I haven't, I label my stuff first :)

Once, on the first CP I built, but with the second joystick I wired.  Amazing that the first joy I wired had it correct, but the second didn't.  Go figure.

1. First attempt I did 1 button and the joystick. the button was clearly labeled NO/NC, plus it only had the NO terminal. when i did the joystick it had all 3 terminals so I used the same 2 as for the button. Wrong.. mustve been different brand of switch or something <edit> oh yeah, AND I had up=down, left=right switched

2. WHen I completely rewired my ipac, I ran the ground loop from my CP into the +5v.. No damage but nothing worked

Nope, never have. Reading the FAQ does wonders.

Wired my Joysticks correctly, but swapped them erratically (Player 1 with Player 2). They are rotary sticks and if you twist them you turn the opposing Player  ::)

I still haven't rewired them, some of the wires are too short now :P I configured it through an .ini-File in Mame32.

Don't know yet if I wanna live with that, because I wanted to run other emulators, too.
