the best way to check it to use a multimeter (i got mine new from radio shack for 10$) set it to "continuity" then touch one of the leads to a common gound area on the pad, now with the other lead, touch another common ground area o nthe pad, if the multimeter makes a lil beep or lights up (whatever it does when you have continuity) you have a common ground, if you cant find any other common areas on the pad that have continuity with any other common area then you need seperate grounds for each switch. if you find that all the grounds have continuity then you are cool to daisy chain. the ps pads i have hacked were all common gounds, the dc pads were too, the gravis pads however didnt share a ground, so it is very smart to check and a multimeter is a good thing to have on hand to check yourself after you solder too.

hope that helps
