Well, it depends on where it's you're at. If you live in a low population area, it's tough to find cabs. Places along the coasts, or bigger cities, were once full of arcades, however, and finding deals is much easier.

Having lived on the coast in a couple a big cities, it seems like the deals are always in the mid-west or east.  :dunno   Chances are, the deals are usually where you aren't!

Went to Australia for my honeymoon.  Great place, great people.  Don't try the vegemite.  Oh, and don't go to Sydney in November.  They have these flies that actually aim their dive bomb attacks for your mouth and eyes.  Nasty.

Top five reasons I want to live in Australia
1) Fosters beer!
2) Kangaroo meat is tasty
3) I want to wrestle a crocodile
4) Barrier reef scuba diving
5) Chicks with accents

OZ residents can correct me here, but I don't think there actually is any Fosters in Australia.  They drink vb (victoria bitter) and XXX (i forget if it's 3 or 4 x's).  One of those is the same brewery as Fosters.  The locals made fun of me when I asked for a Fosters.

I've heard their ISP's really suck though. If I can't load my porn side art in under thirty seconds, I'd find a new home.

Yes. Yes they do. I've found a decent ISP with a 24MB connection and reasonable download limits, but on the whole they suck. Election is coming up and government is promising to do something about it though.

Sounds like you've been listening to Scared Wierd Little Guys. A comedy duo that sang "Come To Australia". Lyrics follow:
Redback, Funnel-Web, Blue-ringed octopus
Taipan, Tigersnake and a Box jellyfish
Stonefish and the poison thing that lives in a shell
That spikes you when you pick it up

Come to Australia
You might accidentally get killed

Your life's constantly under threat
Have you been bitten yet?
You've only got three minutes left
Before a massive coronary breakdown

Redback, Funnel-Web, Blue-ringed octopus
Tiapan, Tigersnake and a Box jellyfish
Big shark just waiting for you to go swimming
At Bondi Beach

Come to Australia
You might accidentally get killed
Your blood is bound to be spilled
With fear your pants will be filled
Because you might accidentally get killed

But I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I love it here.

Fosters is in OZ... but I honestly don't remember the last time I saw anyone drink it! I bought a carton of it in the very early 90's i think... ONCE!
It's XXXX (Pronounced 'Four X')
In general..VB and Emu Export is popular with the thong wearing, blue singlet wearing, slang talking aussies.  VB tastes alright... but only after you've drunk the first 6 holding your nose!  Emu Export is often described as "domestic violence in a can"!!
Boutique and Micro-Brewery Beers are really popular here... Who am I kidding!!  All beer is popular here!!!!
Here endth the mini-beer lesson..

Emu Export is often described as "domestic violence in a can"!!

Could be worse, you could be drinking a tin of Tooheys Red......

All this talk of beer has made me thirsty, I know what I'm doing after work!

Not exactly sure what you mean by "our version of budweiser" but I'll try to answer anyway.
My fellow aussies on BYOAC may correct me as I'm more of a scotch drinker, here goes.
VB - Victoria Bitter - widely popular, cheap, guaranteed to find cases upon cases at almost any sporting event. Considered a bad beer by many (see spriggy above) but I quite like it.
Tooheys - Several different varieties (New, Draught, Old, etc) Similar to VB but possibly with a little more class.
Crown Lager - Quality beer. I think more people drink it simply because they can afford to rather than for the taste.
XXXX - Very popular in QLD, don't see it much anywhere else.
Then there's Hahn premium, Carlton Cold/Draught, James Boag, and the usual imports. I'd go into them in more detail but I'm getting really really thirsty.

Don't try the vegemite.

Wos up with ya?! It's well nice!

OZ residents can correct me here, but I don't think there actually is any Fosters in Australia.

Aussies have it but don't drink it cause it tastes like ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---  :P  Much like it does everywhere else in the world.

Personally I think Coopers from South Australia make good beers.  Mind you I ended up drinking a lot of Coolabah white wine...that's bang for buck.  Throughly enjoyed Bundy & coke too.  I dunno why they don't do premixed whisky/rum etc & coke in cans here in the UK, that's a great idea.

I like the way the Australian bars emphasise keeping the glass/drink cold.  Over here in town pubs you get a manky wet glass that's still warm cause it's just come out of the dishwasher...feckin horrible!

I wish I was there at the moment, 2nd day of spring and I woke up to a white garden...

And you can get into pubs here at 18yrs. I heard the beer in the US is watered down,(i have no idea)

Australia is home to some of the world's most unusual creatures. most of which are either dangerous or deadly. It comes as no surprise, then, that the world's deadliest snakes reside on this island nation. This is a list of the world's deadliest snakes, listed by potency of venom in ascending order.

10. Western Brown Snake Darwin
9. Death Adder Eastern Australia
8. Black Tiger Snake Mount Chapel Island, Tasmania
7. Tiger Snake Perth
6. Beaked Sea Snake Great Barrier Reef
5. Eastern Tiger Snake Adelaide
4. Midland Tiger Snake Great Dividing Range
3. Taipan Bundaberg
2. Common Brown Snake Brisbane
1. Fierce Snake Windorah

 All in australia

I was in the US earlier this year, found some nice boutique beers whilst there.  Boulevard and Fat Tire spring to mind.  Nice beers, even nicer when work picks up the tab!

Just finished off a few Boags Premiums, very tasty.

I saw/shared rooms with most of those low-risk spiders...fortunately I didn't come across the others with the exception of redbacks.

Also saw quite a few snakes but I think only one was a dangerous Brown Snake.

I was more worried about things that live in the sea...but again had no problems there.

Yep - that's why we sneak over to Canada for stronger stuff, or fortunately, there are a lot of "micro-brew" pubs in my area where you can get custom beer, for a wide variety of tastes...

There are state specific laws concerning this as well. I know a lot of people in Oklahoma border towns cross over here to Arkansas to buy beer because it has a higher alcohol percentage.

There are state specific laws concerning this as well. I know a lot of people in Oklahoma border towns cross over here to Arkansas to buy beer because it has a higher alcohol percentage.

In California there are a ton of micro-breweries that make really good beer. You can usually find your favorites in the supermarket.  Most people dont drink Budweiser.

When I go visit my relatives in the midwest I'm shocked at the beer selection.  There is nothing really worth drinking.  If it tasted good that would be one thing but it doesn't.  Beer realy shouldn't ever be less than 5% Alchohol bu volume...Most of what I buy and drink at home is around 7-8% ABV.  And lately I've been liking the hoppy bitter beers.

As for Fosters...I drank a bunch of it when I lived in London but only because the subsidised university pub offered it for like a pound per pint.  I also drank a lot of murphy's in those days. I always pretty much understood that the Whole Fosters Austrailian think was a marketing ploy for us dumb Americans.  But the ads were pretty funny sometimes.
