Mala and Zsnes Issues
« on: March 20, 2007, 10:18:54 pm »
Hi guys im fairly new to Mala, I have it set up running MAME, ATARI2600, and SEGA Emulators perfectly thanks to UncleT’s instructions.

BUT i seem to be having trouble running my Nintendo roms, I am running Zsnes and have everything in their correct folders, but when choosing the Nintendo ROM. Zsnes seems to open up in its own little window (not full screen).

Then if I try to get out of zsnes and back into mala I press the Esc key, but it only exits out of the ROM, leaving the pink and purple main screen for Zsnes, ? ? Is this correct, :dunno im not sure what I have done wrong
Please please please HELP !  :)
Thanks

What version of Snes are you using?  Zsnes (dos), or Zsnesw (windows)?

Either way, I you're supposed to manually quit from either version with the quit command from the file dropdown menu.

Now as far as the video goes, you can default to a fullscreen resolution in the config -> video menu.

Under the "MISC/Game Keys" menu within ZsNes you can map the key you want for EXIT.   I use "Q" myself.

As for going full screen under the "CONFIG/Video" menu within ZsNes, I selected "800x600 S FULL" as my setting.   I believe I simply tried a bunch of them and kept the one I thought worked best for me.

True, but it doesn't work when trying to map Esc, as the Esc key is used to "cancel" your mapping, so the only real way is to edit the cfg file manually and use the key's "scancode" .
