Journey Artwork wanted
« on: March 20, 2007, 04:14:18 am »
Hi.

Since I wasn't successfull finding a Journey cab I want to turn one of our generic cabs into Journey.

At Localarcade there are very good scans of the sideart and the panel.....does somebody have pictures from the marquee and the bezel?

Marquee - Yes

Bezel - I so very, very wish.  If you can track that down, let me know.

You might email prOk or check his site.

His latest product is a repro Journey CPO, so he may have other resources.

Also here is a Journey flyer.

@Mr. Do: it seems that the artwork for marquee and bezel is s splitted sideart. I tried to separate them from the files at Localarcade and it looks very good. I'll have to see what generci cab I use so I can "adjust" the pictures for marquee and bezel. Is your marquee at your artwork-site? I could find it there  ???

@horseboy: thanks for the link. Some nice things there....I like the Asteroids on the back of the car .... Carsteroids ;D    Since I have to turn a generic cab into a Journey machine I cannot use their CPO. I downloaded the CPO from Localarcade and thought that the colours were wrong...but I was. The CPO at www.oleszakcreative.com looks just the same  :)

Good catch there.  That should make it easy enough to "make" an accurate bezel now, based on other pics that I have.

Can I assume that you're going to go with mamemarquees for the printing?  If so, then Scott already has a copy of the same file.

PM me your email when you get  a chance.

I'm a little confused.....I downloaded journey.zip again but I cannot find any picture file  ???  There only seem to be the Eprom files.

@Mr.Do: I stenciled out the bezel graphics, on saturday I will take a look at our generic cabs which will match best :)

And no, I have a local print shop that did very good jobs with my CPOs. Yet I don't know how I will do it. maybe I will have it printed and then attached on double sided adhesive foil....I will see :)

It wasn't the zip file; it was one of the other pics in that directory:

Yeah - this picture helps a lot...I was just confused because rikitiki mentioned a png-file inside the ZIP.

Well, scrap that idea if you care at all about accuracy.  The sideart file that I have is WAY off  :(

Maybe you saw it somewhere else?? This in a high res would be great.

Here's what I made from the sideart file at Localarcade. Since I will turn a generic cab into Journey I guess I can deal with that solution :)

Hi,
Anyone have any luck with the Journey artwork?
I noticed that the side art on localarcade appears to be incorrect. It has a flat top, the real one (from what I have seen in photos) has a slanted top that matches the angle of the top of the cab?

the 'sideart' on localarcade is actually a poster scan, not a real sideart scan.

Hi prOK,
That's what I figured. I think I will try my hand at vectorizing and stretching up the top portion. I have a couple of projects to work on now but this will be next on my (ever-expaning) list.
The bezel seems to be the most elusive piece. If anyone finds a good photo of one (particularly with the text on the bottom please post it here.
Thanks!
Alex
