linux jukebox software

Ok, I realize this question has been asked on here before, but there was no answer.  I was wondering if there are any good album based jukebox software available on Linux, I know about GlobalComm, but unless you are a programmer (which I am not) this is very difficult to get running.  I was also wondering if any of the great developers on here have any plans to port their software to Linux.  I understand that you can run jukebox software under DOS/Win but DOS is a pain to setup and Win has too many licensing issues, also it is a resource hog.  I run Linux exclusively and really do not want a Win box in my house. I am not trying to start a flame war/bash session just asking a question, I am not anti-Win just personally don't like it.

I've heard anectotal evidence of users getting Dos/WinCAB to run under wine.  Same might be true of other apps as well.  Of course this introduces additional overhead, but depending on the target machine's specs, it might not be an issue.

All the VB and Delphi jukeboxes can be ruled out of being ported... That is Freebox, SK and Uncle T's out of the window, i think DAM is delphi so that's also out.

If porting is an issue for VB software, RealBasic can convert VB to RealBasic and it will compile for Win, Mac and Linux.

The only problem is if they used dlls or other extensions, they wont not easly being ported.

My future jukebox software, wich is not out (and still to early to annocence, but the named is MultiJuke) may been ported to Linux as well. I only port that to Linux if/when I found out to get a good sound engine that actuelly work with BlitzMax (wich Im using).

Yes but most of the projects use WMP or ACTIVE MOVIE to play the audio, this will not port to linux. Then there are all the API calls etc...

If no real jukebox software exists couldn't you just use MythTV or Freevo's audio features? Looks nice and both programs can probably be configured for audio only use.

Freebox would be an awesome program to get running in Linux,

You could boot from CD with no hardrive and that would get rid

of a lot of the problems with music rights crap in USA.
