Just finished up my jukebox project and thought I would post some pics. I am also in the process of putting together my first mame cabinet. Finishing off the jukebox was phase 1 so now I can move on to phase 2.
I wanted something I could integrate with my existing home theater pc and projector. Up to this point I have used musicmatch jukebox software on my projection screen with a gyration wireless mouse setup. It's served me well but I've wanted to go with something a little more elegant for awhile now.
I ordered a elo 15" LCD touchscreen from ebay. This thing is perfect for in-wall mounting as it was previously used in a multiple monitor display for a convention or something. It just a has a steel surround outside the lcd with mounting holes. Its mounting width is 14 1/2 inches so it fit perfectly betweeen 2 studs in the wall.
Wish I had taken pictures of the install but all I did was find two studs, cut a hole and mount it in the wall. I then framed it out with some chair rail molding. It sits around the corner from my equipment rack so cable distance wasn't much of a problem. I am running a dual monitor display on my existing home theater pc. The software is something called album player which I just recently found. I love it so far.
I use google's picasa software to randomly display my picture library when the touchscreen isn't is use as a jukebox. It effectively becomes a digital picture frame. One other cool thing I use is a program called g-force. It creates some awesome graphical displays based on the beat of the music you are listening to. It builds on itself somehow and creates more and more elaborate displays the longer you have it running. So I can run this on the projection screen while the touchscreen is set to juke box mode.
