I was surfing and found one of these in my local craigslist...

I wonder if the trackball would be worth trying to use in a mame cab.

I also found them at amazon...
http://www.amazon.com/Radica-I6001-PlayTV-Golden-Golf/dp/B000EYF7YQ

Now for $30 we can get a tested used one but this might be a workable hack if that source dried up.

Just wondering what you guys think.

If it will play Golden Tee properly, than it's plenty good enough for MAME.

After reading some of the reviews it sounds like a real cheep knock-off of the arcade game.  Chances are you would be wasting your money for the trackball.

I still would like to peek "under the hood" of one of those and see how the trackball is built... But not about to lay down cash to satisfy my curiosity.

I have hacked one of these to a mouse as i do not have the room on the control panel and it's in it's own box.

It's not the best trackball in the world by any means but it was cheap and works!

check out this thread for more info and pics of mine.

Everything I've ever heard about the product (both on here and from other friend) suggests it feels flimsy but "gets the job done"... I personally wouldn't want that feeling resting on my cab... at least not for the Trackball..

A user is currently selling Happ Trackballs on the BST forum for $30 each..

If you're going to spend the money, I would do it on a well known quality product with good support behind it.
