Want to borrow/buy: Star Wars yoke cover
« on: April 09, 2003, 02:32:35 pm »
I just picked up a Star Wars Cab today and found out the yoke cover is missing. For clarification, this is the metal casing-like piece that covers the guts of the yoke. Anyway, I'm looking to borrow one for a short time to have one reproduced for my machine. I'll pay for the opportunity to borrow.

I'll also buy one if someone has one they would like to permantly part with (but I doubt many have spares of these lying around - I thought I'd offer just in case).

Any idea how long you would need it?

I was assuming he meant the metal part. I peeled off the art on mine since it was torn up anyway.

I imagine I wouldn't need it for more than 2-3 weeks. My uncle owns a metal shop and I recently had him fabricate some Dragon's Lair marquee rails (not a simple task - required welding for the top bracket). Anyway, the turnaround time was 3 weeks and he probably didn't need the original rails for that long but I had no reason to have them back sooner. If he charges me for set-up, I might just have extras made in case someone else could use some (you never know). As an incentive, I'll send back a repro (for free) with the original if that's something you could use.

Oh, yeah - I need the metal part - not the sticker. Thanks for the link though. :)

In that I don't need the Repro let Brax send you his. He needs it more than I do. PM him.

I could use a repro yoke cover, too.. mine is all banged up, crooked, and has had the holes redrilled (or punched -- very sloppy).. fixing to try to make my own, but realize I don't have the tools to make it look really nice..

Msg me if you end up having a refurb made, I would buy one if you can swing having a few made..

Somebody could make some good money from this forum if they did a run of full reproduction star wars yokes (not just the metal plate).  You could probably sell them for a couple hundred apiece.
