Hello again friends, long time no see...

What game was originally in this cabinet?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=004&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=140094047451&rd=1&rd=1

I went and looked at the machine, the replacement monitor is too big thats why there is no back door on the machine.  Also of note, the marquee is convex, aka, rounded out towards the player.  I searched that thing up and down and found no indication of its original game or manufacturer.

Any body help me out?

Oh, he also has this defender which looked amazing (not a defender fan... but in case yall are looks like a steal)

Also- I would never pay 199 for the mortal kombat unless that cabinet is the super ultra rare uber prototype robotron 64!!   :laugh2: :laugh2:

Found it by searching the forums for "rounded marquee".  Looks like a Bad Dudes/Robocop

But which one?  Or does it even matter.   :P

Bad Dudes / Robocop used the same Data East Cabinet...I know because I mamed one of em.  The Real Ghostbusters is also a similar model,  that is where I got my control panel...

Frizzle, it was your topic that helped me find it.

Actually you might notice that it's starts at $199 without the reserve met. I'm sure there are people not familiar with this hobby that would pay that for an MK of any sort. On the plus side it is a pretty clean conversion.

I always thought that the curved marquee made these cabs stand out from other cabinets (and I don't mean literally).

Frizzle--did that thing actually use incandescent bulbs? Personally I don't think I've seen any game made past probably 1984 that used incandescents, and even those are rare (or Midway). The MAME cab looks nice. I don't think I've seen that one.
Brevity is not my strong suit.

Yup...incandescent bulbs...I even have the burn hole on the roof of the cabinet to prove it!  Of course I put 2 6w florescent replacement bulbs in their place...

Thanks for the compliment BTW.  They are both MAMEed... the other cabinet was a Final Fight in a Dynamo cabinet.  I rotated the monitor but had to pull a cheeze and cut a small corner off the back door as the G07 frame sticks out about 2".  No big deal as this cabinet is for my home arcade anyway I used the excess space from the hole I cut to mount 2 120MM fans as well...semi-cheeze but no one knows anyway.
