found this today and hadn't heard much about it.  looks more like mini-pc/tablet something... hopefully not with a price to match... anybody know more info on this at all?

Not really a handheld but an UMPC (Ultra Mobile PC) ... they are indeed more of a mini tablet pc with windows or linux.
Problem with these thing is that the battery life is still on the short side and they are a bit too expensive to get popular.
I guess in some years I want one ^^

yeah, cool little (expensive) toy...they actually announced it a few months ago, and I've seen some tech demos of the unit.  They had a few of them at Office DevCon2006 in redmond running the new Office as an example of ultra-mobile computing...

Not a dedicated game system, but capable of playing pc based games....
