Question about Jakobud cabinet plans...
« on: March 06, 2007, 03:54:08 pm »
I was just wondering if anyone knows whether the side images in the cabinet plans offered on Jakobuds site are correct.  I'm not questioning the dimensions, but the actual drawing of the side profile of the cabs in his files.  I'm not sure if they were drawn with a cad program from the dimensions given, or if they are just a close representation of the size shape with the measurment marks added.

Hopefully this make sense, let me know if I need to clarify anything.

I'm guessing that the only reason for asking this question, is that you would want to print them out full size to use as a template???

If that's the case, then you'd be better off just drawing it out full size, using the given dimensions.

I do know that the Defender Cab plans were spot on correct. Because I was able to compare it to my original machine, before I sold it.

It's actually because I have a CNC machine and I can make tool paths from vector files (and he provides the illustrator files of his plans which includes the vector outline of the cab side).  I'm sure it would be useful for some that may want to print out the side profile full size.

I'm not a cad programmer (only use the CNC machine as a hobby, it's not my main source of income).  I could program the side dimensions in from his plans, but it takes me a while with my program (I'm sure it's easier with different programs that I don't own or know how to use).  If his sides are actually acurate, I could program them in pretty easily (all of the other pieces of arcades are pretty much rectangles).
