Nice one! :D

I also wanted to build one in the past but after thinking it over it would just get too expensive, hard to build and would take up too much room :(
I'm just going to get 3 monitors, a CH yoke and and some pedals... A lot cheaper and still a very nice setup.

Here are some pics I still had in my bookmarks ^^

One thing I don't understand is that they have such a setup but still have a cockpit onscreen  :dunno

In the first case, it would seem you need the cockpit display for lack of controls.  Also, those must be 15" monitors, so I'm thinking that's an old example. One thing that will be cool with newer display technologies is they'll get rid of the 'breaks' between multiple screens.

The first one you need an onscreen cockpit yeah... but the last one and the one on the site you posted looks weird :S

They also sell units like this Boeing 737NG
There was also a very nice one from a Cessna.

Only problem is that the Boeing costs about €10000 (
13,121.92 USD)
The Cessna was about €3000 but can't find it anymore.
And then you also need flight controls and more ^^;

btw, if I look at the keyboard it looks more like 17"

Is it possible to decase the three monitors and prevent some of the split screen?  I was thinkning of using three 21in monitors and taking them out their case?  Dunno though

I have seen it with TFT monitors, there was still some room between them but it looked awesome :D
Never seen it with a CRT but I guess it's possible as well.

With CRTs, I would think you'd want some kind of barrier between sets, but I suppose it could be thin plastic.  (Just guessing, here.)  At Best Buy, they have a huge wall of screens at the back.  I'm always distracted by the breaks between screens.

On the controls, I'd guess these folks are scavenging plane bone yards or something.

Someone here posted about his escapades in the Skunk works scrap yard.  I think he found volcano buttons there.
Back in MY day we lived on the moon and we had to build a rocket ship from scratch to get to the Earth before we suffocated.

Nope!! you can buy all this stuff off the shelf, along with interfaces to connect it all to the PC, and software to make it all work with MS Flight Simulator and Falcon 4.

They're WAY more organised than us Arcade Lot......

You can even buy full motion platforms to mount it all on.

And research indicates that Space Invaders are strongly attracted to people who have recently eaten meat pies.

Yeah, there is some nice stuff!
There is a shop here in Amsterdam that sells all this. Next time I'm there I'll take a look for sure :D

Besides Ebay and Craigslist can get you almost anything.  A Mig-29 Fulcrum was on it a few years ago.

Since CompUSA is liquidating in my area I plan on getting some more monitors and hopefully enough controls to configure to make a mechpod/cockpit.  Granted I need an extra 60gigs in a decent rig to install Xplane first...
