Arcade VGA PCI-E, what version PCI-E??
« on: March 05, 2007, 04:33:41 pm »
I am going to order my MOBO this week and was wondering what version the AVGA PCI-e is as in PCI Express x16, PCI Express x4 or PCI Express x1

I didn't see it on the Ultimark site.

Thanks

According to the Ultimarc site, the PCIe version is a Radeon X550.

According to this link:

http://ati.amd.com/products/radeonx550/X550Brochure.pdf

... the Radeon X550 supports x16 speed.

So I would opt for a mobo with x16 slot.  That's what I did and it works great.

Now is that absolutely necessary or does it really make much difference?  Not sure.
