Mechanical rotary joystick interfaces
« on: February 25, 2007, 03:22:02 am »
Hello,

Searched the boards and found many outdated links to Druin's rotary interface.

Does someone have a more recent link to Druin's if still up and running?

Or, can someone suggest another interface for rotary joysticks?  I saw the optimarc rotary interface controller.  It is a USB controller; I am guessing I can run mulitple USB interfaces for other input devices along with this and all will be well?

Thanks much

Rdagger, a member here at BYOAC, built and sold a limited supply of rotary interfaces awhile back.  Works great, but he no longer sells them.  He gives the info on building it yourself on his website: Rototron.info   Go to "projects", and look for "rotary interface".

I am sure that Andy at Ultimarc sells a version of this.

Cheers

Sure does.  I had just assumed that's what the original poster meant by the "optimarc" interface.   ;D

Anyhoo, here's a link to Andy's interface: http://www.ultimarc.com/rotary.html

I don't think you should have an issue with it interfering with other USB devices.
