Arcade VGA or Not to Arcade VGA

I have a D9200 in my cab, my old version arcade vga died on me.  I mainly play new based games like Street Fighter Alpha and Killer Instinct with a now and again gala marathon.  Is worth me going with version 2, do i have any other alternatives that will not hurt my monitor?

A 9200 will do VGA.  Just use that.

Newer games like SF, MK, and KI will look really good on VGA, heck, they even look good on a TV...

Try out the VGA mode with those games, then if you find you cannot live without the ArcadeVGA, then get a new one...

Thank so i can run the d9200 with a regular video card?  I thought that was not safe thats why i used the arcade vga.

It is capable of displaying standard CGA, EGA, VGA, and (unofficially) SVGA PC modes.

So yes, you can use your regular video card to run it in just about any resolution mode you want.

Warmonger - and anyone else who knows - what is the visible difference between using an avga and not? For anyone with a multi-sync, what is the difference?

The first thing I did when I got my arcade vga was to throw away the sh!te heatsink and put a zalman cooler on. It runs nice and cool now. I think the heat killed your card.

I have a new ultimarc vga break out cable that would work with any vga out just plug it in and solder the wire to the correct wire and they are listed on the each break out what they are and the just plug it in like it was a regular pc model the only thing you would need the arcadevga for is to send a 15khz signal but that monitor does them all and with the break out I have it pretty much make's it plug and play vga only though but if you wqanted the 15khz you would need the arcadevga or similair.
