Fixing control panel overlay to MDF?
« on: February 21, 2007, 10:31:38 am »
Just had my sideart and CPO from Mamemarquees so thought I would have a read up on how people have fitted them in the past to get the best results.
According to the MM site it says "will not stick well to bare MDF". Anyone any recommendations for what I need to put on the MDF to get a good bond to the CPO?
I picked up some 3M craftmount glue at lunchtime as also advised on there for fitting the CPO round the bends of my panel, would this suffice or do I need to paint something onto it, then spray with the 3M gloop?
I just dont want to get it all wrong as its cost me more than any other part of the cabinet so far.

TIA.

I primed mine with a latex primer and it adhered without any problems.  I believe that Scott's sends out a sheet with details about it and I followed his instructions.

Yeah, just prime it or paint it and you'll be fine.

Don't forget to put at least a few coats.
