What exactly is this thing? Anyone have any info on it? I was wondering if it's all that hard to build....

Looks like an alternative to an Ipac card. Although its "not compatible with all versions of windows".

I wouldn't bother with it honestly.

Thats what I kinda thought. What got me wondering is if I could make one myself for a few bucks.

What exactly is this thing?

Crap! that's what it is..... Contrary to the claims in that auction, they do ghost and keyblock  and they're a very poor keyboard hack in a box!

Don't touch it!! The people that make these damned things deserve to be the first ones with their backs to the wall when the revolution comes!!!  Bunch of rip off merchants.

Also try doing a search on here... questions about these come up on a regular basis.

I have and am still using this thing in my cabinet I would NOT recommend it as it does key block like crazy. I have a 2 player Control Panel with 6 buttons each and I can't even play a 2 player cooperative game cause if were both pressing a direction and we hit a button at the same time one wont register. The only reason I'm still using it is that i only play by myself for the most part. I'm getting a IPAC soon.

I would think the dead give-away is the following bullet point, "Compatible with all versions of M$ Windows and M$-DOS."

I'm not a huge fan of Microsoft, but if you're trying to sell a product, it doesn't look good when you substitute $ for s. It just makes the person and the whole auction look dodgy.

Ultimarc is having a special on minipacs for BYOAC members.   Comes in at a great price with free shipping if you only order the module and no cables.

Much better deal.

Well, I only thought of buying one to see if I could build them myself for next to nothin'. I have numerous builds coming up and I wanted find a cheaper way to go other than an IPAC or Keywiz. But you guys are right. I'm sure the encoders are probably the smart way to go.
