Hi Folks,
I've got a quick question. I'm a Mac guy who has very little, to almost no PC experience. I bought a PC just for my mame cabinet. It was a real hassle getting it going, but I finally have most of the kinks worked out (I think).
I do have one nagging problem that may be easy to solve, but I'm clueless as to what to do to fix it. Maybe someone can help.
I'm running componet out to a 27" Insignia Television. The picture runs great, and I'm feeling really good about the settings I have. Here's the problem, when I start up I have to wait for what seems to be an eternity for the component signal to kick in. I have it set up as monitor 1 in the ATI-Catalyst settings, and most of the time a second monitor isn't hooked up. When it is, it of course comes up right away when I power the screen on. I get the BIOS type screen followed by the "windows is starting up" followed by a screen that says O/S 2 Warp. Eventually the screen flashes black for a second, and the TV gets a signal.
It drives me nuts because the TV says Component No signal detected for a minute or two before it finally kicks on. Then if there's a problem at startup (like the computer overheated once a while back before I repasted the chip) and it just sat there. I had to hook a monitor up to it, and I finally found out that it wanted me to hit F1 to acknowledge the overheat.
Is there a way to make the component signal come on from the time the power button is hit? As much as I'd like to not see Windows and the BIOS screen, I'd rather see them on the TV instead of having to hook up a monitor.
Any suggestions? Can this be done?
