I want to finish off my control panel box in style so laminate is the way to go.  However it doesn't make sense to buy a 4'x8' sheet of laminate when I only need (2) 31" x 6" pieces and (2) 15" x 6" pieces.  Does anyone have any leftover black laminate they could sell?  Alternatively, does anyone know where I could buy a quarter sheet?

Thanks,

Just in case you don't get any offers on some black laminate, another thing that you might consider is the Black Pica vinyl from Happ.  You might not save much $$ on it because of Happ's minimum order, but you would probably only need a couple feet of it because it comes in a 4' width.

This is very tough stuff.  It's very similar, if not the same, material used on arcade cpo's.  It is super easy to install because it's pressure sensitive.  I've used it on a couple of control panels and I would recommend it to anyone that isn't looking to do the artwork/lexan thing.  I wish I had a better pic of it installed, but the only one I can find is http://www.oscarcontrols.com/tmp/new_cp2.jpg.  It's hard to tell from the pic, but it is textured just like arcade cpo's.

Thanks for the link Oscar, I will check that stuff out.  I will actually only be using the finishing material for the box.  The control panel itself will be the standard artwork-under-lexan (check out my other thread below, I'd love to get your feedback on my artwork).

well home depot carries 2x4 laminate sheets too..
Its only like $12...

I am guessing you local home depot dont have 2x4 sheets? ???.

I still have some left over in my old apartment(wood looking) but not sure if the new folks still kept it in the closet..if i find I will let you know(I will be picking some stuff from there Sunday).
I give you free if you pay shiping.. ;)

You better off just buying a 2x4 sheet from home depot though(you get to choose color then). :)

No kidding?  I will have to call up Home Depot tomorrow to ask about that.  I didn't see any smaller sized pieces last time I was there but that doesn't mean they don't carry them.  Thanks Snaaake.

I called my local Home Depot earlier today.  It turns out they do carry 2' x 4' sheets for only $13 so I'm in luck!  I'll be checking out the color options tomorrow.  Thx for the heads-up Snaaake.

no problem !  ;)
I just wanted to point another thing out though.
Dont buy the green marble looking one home depot carries..that one is horrible(IMO)..I mean at first glance it looked nice so I bought it then after like 2 months the color started washing out.
Buy either something blue or black(marble or not).  :)
