Looking to get some speakers that fit my listening space a bit better, so I'm selling my current 5.1 setup.
The Bose direct reflecting series sounds pretty darn good, but with all the open spaces in my living room, I'm just not getting the most out of them.
People slam Bose a great deal for many reasons, and admittedly they're bang for the buck is probably pretty low at retail price. Other than that, though, I don't think there is anything wrong with these speakers. I need to move up to a 7.1 system, and would like to get rid of the direct-reflectors.
So, anyways here are the deatils:
I have a set of Bose 701 Series II floorstanding speakers for fronts. The left speaker has a powered subwoofer in it, but you might want to get a separate one if you are on a slab or otherwise bass deadening listening location. These have been discontinued by Bose, not sure why... they are good speakers.
For a center channel, I have the Bose VCS-10. These are still going for near retail on e-bay, so people are still buying them.
For the rear channels, I have a pair of Bose 301 Series V. These are probably some of the better bookshelf speakers at the price. I see these all over in bars and other locations, and they always sound great. These also come with FS-01 stands. These have been used as rears, so have not been pushed hardly at all.
These retailed for the following:
701II - ~$1100
VCS-10 - ~$200
301V - $328
FS-01 - ~$90
Retail total ~$1700
Like I said, I know that Bose doesn't give that much bang for the buck at the retail level, but getting these used I think would be a decent deal, since they have been taken care of very well.
I would like to get $1200 for the set, and might be able to go lower.
EDIT: Look below, I will ship it, but you'll have to pick up the shipping costs.
I'm doubting that I'll get any hits on here for this stuff, but never hurts to try!
PM me if interested.
