FS: Hanaho ArcadePC Deluxe
« on: April 05, 2003, 02:50:07 pm »
FOR SALE:

Hanaho ArcadePC Deluxe.  More info can be found on Hanaho's website:

http://www.hanaho.com/products/ArcadePC/Deluxe/index.html

Please note that when I purchased this ArcadePC, the offering was a bit different.  Instead of a 21" PC monitor my cabinet came with a 27" SVGA arcade monitor.  It makes the lower resolution arcade games that we have come to adore look more authentic.  Also, with a 27" monitor you can still play vertical games with the actual play area at least the same size as the original vertical arcade game if not larger.  I am very pleased with this monitor.  It has a horizontal range of 31.5KHz - 48.5Khz and a vertical range of 50Hz to 90Hz.  It can have screen resolutions up to 1024x768 interlaced which will make a windows desktop look a bit "fuzzy" but our favorite MAME games look more authentic.  This monitor works well with vector games also.  Screen resolutions below 1024x768 are non-interlaced.  For more info on the monitor go to SharpImage's website: http://www.sharpimage.net/si227svga.html

Also the original control panel that came with the ArcadePC when I purchased it had no trackball so I redesigned the control panel and have added a 3" Happ's trackball and a Fultra spinner.  All the buttons are Happ's and all the controls I purchased were new.  I replaced the non-programable Hanaho keyboard encoder with an IPAC and the trackball and spinner are controlled by a Hagstrom ME24 encoder.

PC's were not included at the time I purchased the cabinet and the PC I have in the cabinet will be sold with the cabinet.  It is a PC I built from scratch for this cabinet.  It consists of a PIII 800 processor, 256MB RAM, Voodoo 3 video card, CD-ROM, floppy drive, NIC and 20 or 30MB hard drive.  I don't remember the HD size off hand so if you need to know that let me know and I will find out.  I have an Altec Lansing PC speaker system with sub in the cabinet.  I am also using a genuine Soundblaster Awe64 gold in the cabinet for maximum DOS compatibility.  You can use Windows based emulators if you like but I prefer AdvanceMAME for DOS and have the cabinet running that now.

The coin door is functional but Hanaho didn't have the lights wired so I wired them up to the 12V side of the PC power supply.

I will also throw in two bar stools that I purchased from Happ's.

Here's some more pictures:

I am selling the cabinet because I am in the process of building my own cocktail cabinet so I don't need two cabinets.  The cabinet has been mostly adult played (sadly) and is in excellent condition.

A new Hanaho cabinet is ridicuously priced at $5000 and I am asking $2500 for this cabinet.  Can you build one cheaper with used components, yes definitely.  This cabinet is for the person who doesn't have the time, tools or skills to build their own cabinet but still wants a professional looking cabinet.

Please note I will not ship this cabinet.  I live in southwest Indiana (Evansville) and you can come play test the cabinet and I can help you load it into your truck or van or you can pay someone to come into my house and pack it up.

If you have any questions please reply here or email me directly at tjambro@sigecom.net.  Please use "Arcade Cabinet" or something similar in the subject line as I get much spam email daily and delete most without looking at it.

Thank you for your time.

I am so confused:

"Why build one yourself, when you can buy a ArcadePC for less money than the cost of the parts?"

Buying the ArcadePC Deluxe:

The ArcadePC 'Deluxe' base price is only $4999.95 plus shipping and handling. Be sure to check out Options for info on accessories.

Since when does any cab cost 5k?

also what exactly is the emulator?

Well.. he does seem to indicate that his unit has a 27" arcade monitor instead of a 21" computer monitor.. doesn't seem to be an option on the site, either..

It's not a bad price considering the cost of a new one.. but then again the price for a new one sucks, too.

To the seller: I don't want to discourage, but you probably won't sell your machine here.. you should try eBay.. keep in mind this crowd is 99% D-I-Yers.. the rest are probably too poor for this, anyways :P

Basically its MAME32-lite.  A custom build designed to run just the games that they include on the Capcom CD, if I remember correctly.  Once upon a time I remember reading something about HanaHo working with MAMEDEV to develop a custom build in exchange for some free HotRods.  Try a Google search on AGM to see if you can find out how that all panned out...   ;)

HanaHo stopped using the arcade monitors some years ago and switched to only offering PC monitors for the ArcadePC line.  That's why that option isn't available any more.

Yes, I agree that I probably won't sell the cabinet here but I figure I will try here before trying eBay.  Who knows, there may be a person or two who comes to this forum and would like to build a cabinet but does not have the time or skills...

I was first intimidated with building my own cabinet since I have no woodworking skills and that's why I bought the ArcadePC.  But now I am building my own cocktail cabinet and no longer need it.

Yes, HanaHo only sells PC monitors with their cabinets now instead of the more authentic (IMHO) 27" arcade monitors that mine came with.

Really a 30MB Hard Drive? There were some other typos too (assuming you meant GB). You really have to watch out!

Sorry, I did indeed mean 30GB...sheesh, I even proofread the listing a couple of times.

BTW, eBay cancelled the auction...I guess their filters picked up ROMs...I mentioned that no ROMs would be included but they still deleted the auction.

I have relisted the cabinet and will try again:

My guess is that it was removed because it stated that you would help them locate the ROMS on the net.

Almost any buyer of that cabinet would know where to get the roms (plus you know you probably were not really going to delete them anyway =).
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

Check out some messages in the ebay forum on www.atariage.com/forums, you'll see that they won't even let you sell prototypes anymore  :o,  ::).  I sort of understand multicarts and reproductions, but the fact they cancel prototypes is just insane.
