Mame games exit unexpectedly...
« on: February 05, 2007, 07:29:29 pm »
Recently, when playing some MAME games, it exits suddenly back to the front end.  No idea why - but very frustrating!

Any ideas?  I am running EasyMame on XP.

Thanks!

You didn't say what controls you're using but....Check to see how you have your escape key programed.

Are you using a keyboard or control panel? You may have a loose contact or a short somewhere. I'd check that out if I was using a CP or try another keyboard.

I would also check your application logs to see if they mention anything about applications terminating unexpectedly.

I'd say check on the escape key programming myself.  I think by default if you press p1 and p2 start simultaneously, it acts like ESC.  Bad news if you're both dead and flailing to rejoin the game...

I know that's the case with the IPAC... can you change that to something else if you want?

Yup, I have mine configured on Shift + Coin for ESC. It took a bit of tweaking (partly due to a dead connection on my IPAC grrrr) but works fine now.
