Mala Layouts not showing graphics

For some reason when I select layouts in mala I can't get the background images to show up.  The fonts and game list changes places and I get 'snap' images and thats it.  What am I doing wrong?  Thanks.

Common question:

You can store the graphic files in two ways

1) (default) Have the graphics required for that layout stored in a mala sub-folder with exactly the same name as the layout
2) Just have the graphics in the mala folder (messy but works the same)
