Computer power -> MAME version?
« on: February 04, 2007, 08:33:43 am »
I thought I saw somewhere a table that showed if you had such-and-such computer with x amount of CPU power you could expect to run MAME version x.xx.

Is there such a table? A friend is willing to give me his PIII 1.0GHz computer to use as my MAME computer and I want to know which version of MAME would be a good fit. I'm not planning on running anything other than MAME and Daphne through this. Otherwise I'll just buy a entry-level Dell  (< $400 for an AMD-based computer on their site) and see what version I can run on that.

I'm setting up one for my cocktail now its a PIII 1.0 GHz.  .91 will run but anything over .100 will not load the game. That's what I have seen so far. .91 looks to work well but I have not had time to do a full test.
