Nice PC deals

For anyone who needs a decent, cheap MAME system, these don't seem too bad. The second could be nice for a small cab.

Thx for the links (friend is looking for a cheap MAME PC at the moment).  Can you tell if the HP dx2200 is AGP or PCIexpress?

I personally would avoid TigerDirect like the plague...

First, check the reseller ratings of TigerDirect.

Second, I have had a couple friends buy stuff from TigerDirect that the website description said one thing and the item they got was tottally different.  One of the items was a video card that was supposed to have s-video out and when it arrived the card did not have s-video.  It took them 3 months to finally refund his money after they received the card back.

Third, I had a big rebate through them.  They tried to say they never received the rebate paperwork.  I sent the rebate certified mail with return receipt.  When I told them I had the return receipt with their signature they said I needed to send them a copy of the return receipt.  I sent them a copy and then I get a notice from them saying that they found my rebate but it has been denied because I didn't purchase the item during the rebate time.  So back on the phone I went and now they want another copy of my order.  I send it in and all the while my anger towards them grew.  Then I get an email saying my rebate is processing and I should receive it soon.  8 weeks go by and still no rebate.  They take my name and number down and the person who handles those will call me back.  3 days later and no call.  I call them and they say the person just got back from vacation.  They take down my name and number and say he will call me back.  3 days later still no call.  This time when I called them I told them that I am assembling a package that includes copies of my rebate materials, emails, return receipt, transcripts of each phone conversation and sending this to the Attorney General of Washington State and that I will be asking that this matter be looked into and to see if other consumers are having a similar difficulty with TigerDirect.  I was told she would tell the rebate guy.  Next morning I received a FedEx overnight letter with my rebate check in it.  Nothing else.  No appology no nothing.  After all the hassle and frustration I went through with them, I will NEVER buy from them again.  I left out a lot in this explaination of what happened but it took almost 8 months to finally get the rebate.

I've only purchased once through Tigerdirect, just recently. No complaints at all about the order or shipping. Friends of mine at work said they love Tigerdirect. I have not attempted the rebates yet. I hope I don't have that much trouble, but I know friends of mine who won't do rebates from anywhere because of the businesses pulling this kind of behavior.

Btw, why moved this to Buy/Sell/Trade? I would think this forum is just for us to personally trade with each other. No biggie, just asking.

They might have gotten better recently, but TD is notorious for rebate hassle's.  The only time I'd ever purchase from them is if I can go to their local warehouse and pick it out myself (without a rebate).

I've delt with Tiger Direct before in Canada, and I would purchase from them again, but only if it didn't have a rebate.  I've had trouble with rebates with them before, but usually the rebates are not with Tigerdirect, but the manufacturer.
