Good Quality sounding PC speakers
« on: February 01, 2007, 08:57:32 pm »
Im looking to build a stand up Jukebox and was wondering if anybody can recommend a set of speakers and a Sub PC based. Or am I expecting to much for PC speakers and should look into a home stereo application?

If you are looking for a 2.1 system, these are quite good:

I was checking them out earlier. I dig the review on that website. Is there a good blend of sound? Meaning good highs on the small and good lows on the sub?

Pros: When my neighbors dog would not stop barking for weeks on end, I ordered these speakers and downloaded some sound clips of dogs barking. I collaged them, set it on repeat, and pointed my new speakers out of my window and turned it up pretty loud. After two hours of that, they finally got the hint. I haven't heard the dogs bark since.

Cons: They aren't wireless satellites so I couldn't park them on the neighbors lawn.

The Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 do sound awesome.  I have them attached to my computer right now.   ;D
As far as the lows go, I don't listen to rap-crap so I don't know how low the speakers can go but for rock and pop, they sound incredible.

Im not really into rap either. Im building a PC based Jukebox and well it has nearly every genre even country and rap. Well I must say sadly, but hey.  :dunno

I'll have to take a look at those above speakers.

I would figure it's fairly obvious that you wouldnt listen to crap rap ...  the good rap is always a million times better

For the guys using the Klipsch Pro Media 2.1, can you easily use after market speaker wire?

I'm leaning in this direction but want to know what the supplied cable length is.  I'm looking to put the speakers up on shelves about 10 feet apart.  I already have small tubes installed and painted over to try to hide them in the corners of my room running from the ground up to the shelves.

Just want to know if this is going to be an issue, and if so, do I need to somehow rewire these speakers?
