WTB - 27inch VGA arcade monitor? - KY
« on: January 25, 2007, 05:58:18 pm »
I'm looking to replace the monitor in my cab and I would like a 27inch VGA arcade monitor. Anyone have one or know where I can find one at a reasonable price. Thanks!

Good luck.  Those are either very expensive or rare.  Sometimes I see then on the cheap but it's never locally.

You might want to try to decase a gateway destination 27" VGA monitor.  I haven't tried it but it will probably work.

gateway dl-27 dl-31 dl-36 they are the 27" 31" 36" vga only with a 800X600 res maximum.

I think they lack on the really low display res's when compared to the standard 15khz arcade monitor though.

northerngames is correct, they lack 15khz rgb.  I've got a 36" gateway destination that rocks, DC/GC/Naomi/Atomiswave, but thats it.

Ben, I thought you sold off all your cabs?  What cab do you have left?  And is it just the chassis that went bad, or did the tube break?

If you are just looking for an upgrade to VGA compatability, email excellentcom and cosmicco as they both offer chassis upgrades for Astro and I think Blast City.

Is there a chassis upgrade for the monitor in a super neo 29?  Id love to get vga res for my dreamcast but havent had any luck finding a cheap monitor.

Didnt the blast city cabinets come with vga monitors?
I don't know if you know this but I'm sort of a big deal. I own many leather bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.

I still have the Blast City. I'm trying to REALLY fix it up this time around. I don't think the chassis went completely bad. I had the cab turned off for a while, I tried to turn it on and lost video. Then about a month later, which was about 3 days ago I had video again. I was told it was most likely a cold solder joint. This should be an easy fix...I hope.

Anyways, the monitor has some slight burn-in that says "insert coin". I was looking to get a new monitor to remedy this.
