Just got a 27" bezel, have a question
« on: January 22, 2007, 01:27:38 pm »
So I just picked up this thing, its a Happs 27" bezel for standard (curved) monitors.  I will be using a 27 inch curved tv as the monitor.  Is this thing going to fit ok or am I going to need to take the casing off the tv?  And how you you guys typically keep these things in place?  thanks so much for your help.

Completely depends on the TV.  That said, it should fit with the case on.  As far as retaining them, most people use screws and/or wood strips, since you usually put plexi or glas on top of it.

I have a flat screen monitor and was able to resolve the problem by using a router. I secured my bezel to a flat working surface facing up.  I then used a router with a slot cutter and carefully cut the curved surface away, which left me a flat surface to mount against my flat screen monitor.  I lightly sanded the newly cut area until is was smooth.
If your T.V. has a slight curve that does not match your bezel, you will have to create a template of the curve and transfer it to your bezel for trimming.
