I have played many of the gamehouse games on my cab while using Mala as my front end, and I did not find it too difficult to set up. (Actually it wasn't too difficult after Circo came by to help me

) I used the same set-up method to install and launch Wincab on my cabinet.
As far as actually playing the gamehouse games, many of the games require a trackball to play, but are still great for cabs. The only problem is some of the games are not re-mappable, and would play better with a joystick. Platypus is a classic example that has been pointed out before. (I realize that there are some programs to work around this, but I haven't tried them yet.)
I actually got turned onto Feeding Frenzy when I played the Ultracade arcade version of it at a local arcade. The great thing about many of these games, you get the classic arcade "feel", with up-to-date graphics. The Ricochet series is a great example of this.
