Jam Box from Examples Page

Hi everybody

Been lurking here for a while, and I am getting ready to start on a couple projects.

I'm going to attempt a "woody" clone which Knievel has been nice enough to answer some questions I had via email.

The first one on my plate though is to build a game room jukebox.  I really liked the one I saw on the examples page named "Jam Box".  Here's the link in the example - http://jamboxjukebox.blogspot.com/

Here's my question, I didn't see a way to contact the builder at that site, maybe I'm blind and its right in front of me, but I was wondering if the person who built this box is still around at this site and might be able to answer some questions I have?

I did a search for jam box but I just got a ton of threads about NBA Jam.  So I apologize if this is answered somewhere already.

I am still around. I pop in from time to time. Had to kind of put the project on hold for a little while. If you have some questions I will try to answer them for you.

Hey Scott!  Glad you saw this thread.  I mostly had questions regarding the dimensions of the box you made, but I've already started my build actually.  I don't have any pics at the moment but I'll probably post some later once I have it closer to completion.  Its a little different in that I did not angle the bottom half of the box like yours, its angled for the screen portion but then straight down from there.  I'm going to put a hinged door on the front for easy access to the innards when it is hanging on the wall.

I've kind of copied your control panel but I ordered two of the triangle illuminated pushbuttons in blue for scrolling between pages of SK Juke.

I have everything in except for those two blue buttons and an ipac to wire everything to. 

Machine is pretty much ready to go as well, although I keep adding more albums to it each day.

Glad to hear you are well on your way. Also glad you are not relying on me for my dimensions, LOL. Since starting that project I have moved to a new house, which is about the time my posting stopped on the blog page. When I saw your thread the other day, I was trying to find all my info from the build, with not much luck. One thing i did that I don't think I mentioned on the website, was to put an access in the side. I put a 4 port USB hub there, a DVD drive, and a LAN connection. This really came in handy when needing to update, etc. Unfortunately for me, my jukebox has been sitting in storage for the last 10 months. I have the itch to build a MAME cab, so I have started on that, I am probably going to incorporate a jukebox into it, so I will be using some of the parts from the jukebox for this. I was glad I did the project, I learned a lot from it. I was never a woodworker of sorts and was real skeptical about trying this sort of thing. I soon found out it was not as difficult as I thought it would be to make straight cuts. LOL. I'm putting a wireless NIC in the machine so I can access it remotely for updating and whatnot, adding music, etc.

I also am interested in doing a MAME cab but I thought doing the juke first would be a good learning tool before I really took the leap into a full blown cab.  Plus, I like to host card games in my basement so the juke will come in handy for those.  Eventually, it will be good to have the MAME cab for people that get knocked out of the poker game.
