Fantastic (Classic) Arcade Game Music - Electroid's Rebuilt CD
« on: January 05, 2007, 05:35:49 pm »
Through Donkey_Kong's great site about the hand carved artwork his wife makes, I stumbled on some background music he used on his site. I normaly hate background music on sites, but this time I was very impressed with what I heared. Luckely he had a link to the maker of the music. I checked out the site and listened to the samples and all I can say that these are AWESOME. I've listened to quite some "game" related music, but this the best I've heared so far. Great quality and most important: creativity. He used the game sounds very well to create something recognizable yet still new and refreshing. t is a big compliment to the 80's sound and game music creators ! I would call it dance/house oriented, and there's the (obvious ?) Kraftwerk influence too, but give it a listen anyway if you're not into this kind of music:

This music is perfect to run on any MAME cab as menu/start-up music !!!

And listen to the samples, especialy Retrocade (Donkey_Kong's sample is also from that song, here's a direct link: http://www.nicecarvings.com/html/mitch_1_nice_carvings.html)

I've filled out the feedback form and ordered the CD. Electroid (Charlie) answered very quickly, offered to send it to Europe for the same price ($12,-) and mailed me some extra's as well !
Big thumbs up !!!

This is another site from Electroid: http://www.supernovasound.com

Donkey_kong, thanks for pointing me to this and Electroid, thanks for the music !!!
