GP Wiz Interface question..
« on: December 26, 2006, 12:05:07 pm »
I've got a GPWIZ interface hooked up to a joystick and 9 buttons and now I'm thinking of adding a second joystick and 7 more buttons. Would it be better to get the KeyWiz  or to get another GPWiz (to allow 2 joysticks)? It doesnt appear that hooking the second joy into the GPWiz is a good idea since it is recognized as 1 input in Windows.

I'm also thinking of running ZSnes so I'm curious to know what others are using/reccomend for an interface for Zsnes.

Thanks...

If the GPWIZ is anything like the Eco2 that I have, you can just hook it up against the other unused buttons.  I have the 2nd joystick using button 15-19 and they worked out great, feels exactly like the 1st joystick.  In whatever emulator you use, just remap the keys.

If I am not mistaken you can use the GP-Wiz for 2 joysticks. I think you just have to make sure Player 1 is hooked up to the digital directionals.

I have  2 joys, coin, start, 4 admin buttons and up to 8 action buttons per player connected to my GP Wiz.  Look at my rats nest pic here to see the result.

Good thing I asked, I wasnt 100% sure that hooking up the 2nd Joy to the unused buttons was feasible.

Getting the emulators I'm running to look for these shouldnt be a problem since they already see the other inputs...(fingers crossed).

Thanks for the help!

It might depend on what kind of joysticks you are using, if standard 8 way, then yes, just use the extra inputs on the gp-wiz and you'll be fine.
