TROUBLE WITH TRACKBALL, NOT THE USUAL SLOW RESPONSE
« on: December 20, 2006, 11:57:18 pm »
Hi,

I'm a newb and I purchased a CP off of  ebay and it was not functioning correctly. It consists of 1 and 2 player start, 2 joysticks(4&8way), and six buttons each side totalling 12 all together. A member suggested I get an IPAC2. So I did and I transferred the wiring over from a KeyWIz that was already there to the IPAC2. The joysticks and buttons now work perfectly and I can navigate through MAME as well. However, my trackball still doesn't work. When playing Golden Tee, the trackball will change clubs when rolled to the right but when I try to backswing, it just keeps turning the player to the right as well as when I try to roll the ball forward. I have the keyboard connected into the keybord slot on the computer via PS2. I have the trackball connected into the mouse slot on the computer via PS2. I also have a mouse connected to the computer via USB. If I use the mouse and the buttons without touching the trackball, it works flawlessly. Any ideas? Here is a picture of the Happ trackball.

Thanks!

Mike

Does the trackball move the mouse correctly in windows?  If so, then you need to remap your inputs in MAME.

With my computer sitting at the desktop screen, the pointer follows the trackball perfectly in every direction.

How do I fix this in Mame? I think I have Mame32.

Thanks!

Mike
