Extreme Newbie Question....
« on: December 19, 2006, 07:26:07 pm »
:D

Hi all,

I have just recently started to design my very first MAME Cab and have pretty much finished my CP design (waiting on my spinner to arrive) before I can start building.
My question is, do you require a fire button to be used with games that requires a spinner? And, if so, how many?
I guess I’m trying to work out whether I should have a dedicated fire button(s) next to the spinner on the CP. Having never played games that require a spinner and waiting for my MAME ROMS to arrive by mail, I would really like to get my CP finished without having to modify it afterwards.

Many Thanks for your reply’s

James

Yes....Tempest requires a fire button,  Arkanoid, Doh, etc. require fire button...that said,  I just located my spinner in a place I could take advantage of the P1 buttons...

If your panel layout is well designed then you simply won't need separate dedicated buttons. Very few people add specific buttons to spinners like that.  Look in the examples pages for more ideas or in the control panel thread.
