Problem with CPS1 Jamma Board
« on: December 18, 2006, 08:50:53 am »
Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with a CPS1 Jamma Board, I have just bought a cabinet with "Knights of the Round" in it. When I turn it on the title screen comes up, (no sound) but after about 30 secs it goes to a white screen and stays there. Same thing happens if you start a game, about 5 secs into the game you get a white screen.

I plugged a World Rally Jamma Board into the machine and the game works fine on that. Color, sound, etc all perfect. So I'm guessing its a problem with the board itself.

Anyone have any ideas.

Steve

Sounds like it could be the suicide battery.  I'm not sure if it would let you get that far before the encryption kicked in, but possibly.  Knights of the round was definately on the list of CPS-1 boards that had this potential problem.  Check this link for more info and fixes:

Thanks for your response.
I had a look at the site, and from what I understand the board wouldn't boot up at all if the suicide battery was gone.
So I'm thinking it probably a power problem or a loose conenction.
