I've noticed in reviews of the X-Arcade trackball unit that there is a button for "cheating" in Golden Tee. I believe it cancels out the horizontal motion while pressed for perfectlt straight shots. Is it possible to do this on any control panel? Is there a way to map this in Mame?

You can hardwire this fairly easily.  Mame is written such that I can't see how you could map it, though.

To hardwire, send power or ground (either the red or the black wire) for the X axis (between the sensor board and the encoder) through NC (normally closed) in the button switch.  When you push the button, the circuit opens and no power goes to the sensors.
