N00b help! IPAC2/MAME32 key mapping
« on: December 11, 2006, 06:12:55 pm »
Sorry if an answer to this issue was written anywhere but I couldn't find anything.

I'm just finishing my first cabinet using an IPAC2 and running MAME32 on XP Pro. I'm having a problem getting my first player buttons 1,2 & 4 working correctly. The switches are working fine but every time I map them in MAME32 they show as this:

Button 1: "Left or Right Cntrl"  - instead of Left Cntrl
Button 2: "Left or Right Alt"     - instead of Left Alt
Button 4: "Left or Right Shift"  - instead of Left Shift

When I go to play a game nothing happens with those buttons. Am I missing something before I go and set my own custom mapping on my IPAC? I already tried resetting every thing to the defaults. Is there something with windows on how it reads the keystrokes?

HELP!!!

Thanks in advance for anyone who takes the time to help a poor noob out!
