Centipede High Score
« on: December 11, 2006, 05:21:39 pm »
I oredered all my parts for my Centipede Upright I'm fixing, but the High score is not holding when it is powered down. I read somewhere the HS is held in a chip. The chip is a ER-2055 . Arcadeshops.com said he has no way of programming chips right now.

Does anyone have a source for this chip?

Thanks, Joe

Wasn't it like just the top 3 scores were saved? As for getting the right chip, no idea.

Nice work Kevin.... But you might want to check the link to Phoenix Arcade that is on your web site. The web address is now owned by some cyber sitting spam scum.

Most bottles and jars contain at least twenty-five percent recycled Pacman.
And research indicates that Space Invaders are strongly attracted to people who have recently eaten meat pies.

If you look at what is on that site -"Phoenix" is spelled wrong... Hence the spam spittle...haha...

Hehe... thanks for looking out for me.
But it's not my site. I just had the link to it for reference use.

Nice catch though, that is a pretty common mis-spelling of the word "Phoenix".

It's supposed to save only the top 3 scores, but look what I found:

NO MORE!!

Wow, I never knew that.

"All but the highest three scores are erased whenever you enter the self-test, or press the RESET button on the game PCB, or turn off the power.  This resetting replaces the lowest five scores with ficticious scores and initials."

Makes you appreciate how precious memory used to be.
