27" Orion brand TV (with component) at walmart for $178
« on: December 07, 2006, 10:46:06 pm »
I just went to Wal-Mart to pick up my marquee light and component cable, and I saw a big skid of 27" TVs sitting there. I checked the box, and they have component in. I didn't look, but I'm sure it had S-Video too. It has the speakers on the bottom (not the sides, so I'd imagine it come in under 27" wide.

The brand is Orion, which I don't know much about, but a quick web search revealed that Orion makes 26% of Toshiba brand TVs. I can't find the deal on Wal-Mart.com, but I've seen some references to it on the web. You may have to go in and check it out in person.

Just thought I'd pass this along. I spent weeks trying to find a 27" for under $200 with component in, and probably would have gone with this one if I hadn't bought the Insignia at Best Buy (which is still on sale for $189).

Happy arcading!

I used a 27" Orion for my cab and it came out pretty good. It cost around $150 and didn't have component at the time, only S-video. The quality is what you would expect from a 27" tv, the curved screen fits a happs bezel nicely, and all of the menus can be accessed from the front control panel. I wonder if its that good a deal in light of all the crt HDTV televisions.. has anyone used them in their cabs?
