Ever play it?

What do you think of are the chances of someone being able to make a DIY dashboard?

The speedometer and the Tachometer are represented by LEDS.  

Yes, I know I am thinking WAY ahead.

Just a thought, but why not pull an actual dashboard out of a wrecked car?  The driver's part is usually 1 piece with plexi over the gauges.   Then you could install whatever you wanted to be displayed.
They say patience is a virtue, and ignorance is bliss.  So I guess you can have a pretty good life if you're stupid and don't mind waiting around.

Getting them wouldn't be the hard part.  Filling them with data would be.

Why not create a bezel that fits over the screen?  Might be easier and look better.  but it would only work for one game...

I didn't ask it directly, but I was curious of the interface to the pc, and its response to/from the program... as noted in the orignal post, i was thinking ahead.

I dunno... hack the driver to output the tach data to the parallel port?
