Did gettin a Nintendo Wii, X-Box 360, Or PS3 slow down your MAME usage ? Just curious with these new systems if any ones cab's are collecting more dust than usual... Me personally I picked up a Nintendo Wii and its fun! I find my self playing a little less on my cab, although aaron and the rest of the mame dev's are about to get dragon's lair working on future releases.. it would bring me back in

Mame has a specific usage for me, just like my NEOGEO 4 slot does, as my candy cab does, so does console gaming. My XBOX and PS2 are wired for the cab, and I spend more time of tekken 5, soul calibur 3, MK Armigedon, etc on the XBOX/PS2 on my cab than for King of the fighters, SF2, et al. It all depends on the mood I am in, and sometimes only a fix of super off road, cenetpede or pacman will do - and yes I have them for xbox also!  ::)

I am more apt to play a game of metal slug 5 on the NEOGEO MVS than anything lately... so does that count?

Each console has its place.

I got the firmware mod for the 360 and have been getting distracted trying to check out about 50 games, add that to my Guitar Hero habit and yes I sometimes have a console problem.

What firmware mod?  Anyway, I've been playing more console games lately because Zelda is all-consuming.  I'm almost 20 hours in and I'm still only in the third dungeon.

I've been taking more time "adjusting" my arcade cabinet than playing anything else.  Call of Duty 2 was taking up my time lately, but I finished that game.. I still have to finish Oblivion and will have to buy Gears of War.  Not much time for mame in my little spare time I do have.  I mostly play mame when I have 5-10 minutes here and there.

Building my arcade is keeping me from the consoles completely right now.

I currently have a ton of Xbox 360 games that I need to finish.  Having a wife and a 2.5 yr old is a full time job though, plus my other full time job.  Gears of War, Call of Duty 3, Condemned, Oblivion just to name a few.  I feel like I have to beat them and get the achievements.

However, my 360 has only been played when I know my friends are going to be on Xbox Live to play.

I have version .110 of Mame right now with about 400 roms.  Right now I am going through them all in mamewah 1.62b12 seeing what works.  Many of my roms were working for .106, and I am updating the ones that no longer work.

Another thing is finishing up odds and ends on my cabinet, and the biggest thing is I have not finished building my control panel.  I am going to work on getting the control panel box bottom done tommorow.  My original was when I was starting out, and I didn't even use a sawboard.  Talk about a PoS and plus wood got warped in the heat.  I do have a control panel top, but ghetto wood had voids in it.  SO I am keeping it to put on a nice new piece of wood to do some flush trim routing.

I am having more fun though playing old arcade games than the Xbox 360 right now though.
