They are extremely handy, and I also use them for my light gun as well.

I did a quick search on mini din connectors and found that the standard types only go up to 8 pin. The 9 pin may have been some odd format used by Sega. No way I'm ever going to find a panel mount 9 pin mini din port .

By the way, Neutrik also offers the connector in black - and you can get a nifty rubber cover!I ordered 4 connectors and 4 covers from www.markertek.com for $20 + shipping ($5.50).
