Bill Validator help...?
« on: November 28, 2006, 06:16:27 pm »
I'm posting on the guest board because I'm having trouble logging in...

I'm wondering if anyone can help me figure out an Ardac Bill Acceptor I just bought.  I'm trying to install it into an Ultimate MK3 machine.  It has two sets of wires coming off of it, one of them (8 wires) I believe is used for power, the other (4 wires) I believe sends the signal that it received a dollar.  I'm planning to hook this up to one of the coin slots that's not working, just use the existing wires.  I'm just not sure how to power it.  Any ideas?

Thanks for the help.  I'll try to post pictures when I'm able to log in here again.

I found this link...

http://james.lipsit.com/dollar_bill_acceptor.htm

A guy hooked up the same Ardac bill acceptor that I have to a home automation system (it's kinda cool), but he didn't use the one set of wires that I assumed would send the "bill accepted" signal.  I'm trying to figure out how the guy hooked it up.  He used half of an extension cord for the power, I'm going to try to hook it up to the machine's power supply.

Anyway, if anyone has any ideas that would make this easier... or if you have a bill validator can you check to see how it's hooked up and let me know.  Thanks!
