Will an Ipac2 work for this setup
« on: November 26, 2006, 09:13:26 pm »
 ???

My friend (sure says the doctor witha wry grin) wants to build a cocktail cab along the lines of the crazy canadian cab.

Will an Ipac2 encoder (or for that matter a keywiz) suit the below layout?

Short side(1) player1 joy, Start Coin and 6 buttons
Short side(2) player2 joy, start, coin and 6 buttons
Lons side (1) Player 1 and 2 joy and 6 buttons each.

So a total of 4 joysticks and 4 sets of 6 buttons. maybe an exit or pause with P1 7/8 inputs

Can I just double wire the ipac2 with the same controls going from both P1 joystick etc. to the one input on the ipac.

I assume I can, but before I spend his money I want to be sure.

If it ain't broke give it to me...i'll soon fix that

Double wiring should work fine and make them interchangeable. THe system won't know which you are pressing but won't care anyway.
