any chance you coud have  a look at it and fix it.

How is this diff working out for you? I know that since they took out this functionality in the released version that this may cause instability in Mame, any problems, or does this just work fine all the time?

not had any problems with it yet, and thanks to mkchamp my 9 years of hiscore saves work with the latest mame.

btw mkchamp if you are reading this, if future mames dont compile is it ok for me to  ask you poilitely on this forum to fix them, or could i email you ?

You can do either...you don't even have to ask politely. ;-)
If you are talking about that yahoo email, I wouldn't email there...I never check it. You can either PM me or ask on the forum...up to you!
