two MALA controller questions . . .
« on: November 21, 2006, 03:05:56 pm »
Trying to set up my cab so it is "keyboard free", using MALA as my frontend.

My controls are MAME standard: player one directions are the cursor keys, player 1 button 1 is L-CTRL, player 1 button 2 is L-ALT, etc.

I'm running into trouble with FreeDO v1.8 and FreeDOwraper.exe.  Player 1, button 2 is mapped to the L-ALT key.  When I use it, it pauses emulation and triggers the "FILE" menu in the emulator toolbar (even though FreeDOwrapper is putting me into fullscreen when I launch).

I tried catching the ALT keystroke with the hotkeys function in MALA, but it didn't work.  Is there any solution to this besides reprogramming my keyboard encoder for this one emulator?

Second problem is similar: for most emulators I have a dedicated "PAUSE" button, which is mapped to the "P" key.  Nebula usses the actual "PAUSE/BREAK" button to pause, and I can't seem to change it.  Again, I tried the hotkeys function in MALA to redirect "P" keystrokes to PAUSE/BREAK, but it doesn't seem to allow you to define the "PAUSE/BREAK" button.  Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance for any advice!
