Keyboard Lag Using Slikstik in Mame & the whole

thanks all,
 i just bought a set up with an ultimarc VGA card and a slikstik (quad 4) uses the ipac4 right...
i have everything up and running but i am having a problem with keyboard/coltroller lag
if i boot with no slikstik and just a mouse and keyboard all is well.
when i add the slikstik then i get the keys regestering only 1 key evey 2 to 5 seconds... happens in mame, note pad, word pad, dos, ect
they SStik is programmed properly as the keys all show up in wordpad when testing it.
i used winpac and reset defualts ..
no luck
mame 32 same thing
mame32fx same thing
i run xp pro
ultimate VGA card
the mouse, mouse buttons, trackball & spinner all work fine with no lag on thoses buttons either
whats wrong??

Did you try adjusting your repeat rate in Control Panel / Keyboard Properties?
