That statement implies that any of these new, zero feedback bidders ever had any intention of purchasing a PS3.  99% of those accounts were created to mess with the PS3 auctions.  Easy enough to eliminate them from the equation though.

My opinion, the winning bidder was a shill account established by someone looking to kill that fool's deliberately misleading auction.

It was probably some parents buying one for their kids that doesn't know anything about video games. You can't blame them for not knowing. I could totally see my mom making the same mistake (if she were in the PS3 market) and she's a smart woman.

The auction mentions a shirt, but only shows pictures of the PS3 and throws the PS3 name up everywhere. Then it talks about big bidding prices as if you were bidding on anactual PS3. I bet the winning bidder could argue this one and recoup their money.

After putting my brother's PS3s on ebay for him I realized I hadn't mentioned anywhere that they were 60 GB units (though the picture showed it clearly enough on the box).  I edited it to add the info before anybody had bid and it showed up as an edit, with a date/time.

It went okay.  About $1500 apiece.  I mean, it went really ---smurfing--- great, but compared with the crazy prices from the day before it just went okay.  I'm kicking myself for BIN not occurring to me.  My brother wanted me to put it on for a week, because he figured the longer it was up the more bids it would get.  I told him no way, that he needed to do the shortest auction possible, which was 24 hours.  I'm retarded for not thinking of BIN, though.  I put up the auction about noon or so Friday, so it probably would have meant an extra $1000 apiece.  Live and learn. 

. . . sometimes I tell people that they went for $2500 apiece just because it's fun and since I didn't get any money from it anyway I'm just saying, "My brother made $$$," which all I would have to do is substitute "my brother" for any one of the dozens, or maybe hundreds of other people who's PS3s actually did sell that high and higher and it would be true.

I'm not generally one to exaggerate, but this one seems harmless.
