FA: 36" gateway presentation monitor (DFW, TX)

It's normally against my policy to post Ebay auctions since other people tend to be watching them. However, here's one I thought should be posted because it brings up a good point - presentation monitors make great SVGA arcade monitors for a fraction of the cost.

Holy crap! There are only three available on Ebay right now (two 36" and a 31") and they are all in the north Dallas area.

I ahve a 31" Destination monitor.  Works fine for playing movies and stuff. Well worth buying for $100 or less.

My personal monitor is a 37" NEC Multisync.  The big differences?  This one does much higher resolutions, has lots of inputs, and can have direct RGB hook-up at 15Hz (ie. running arcade boards).  I HIGHLY reccommend one of these if you can find one!

I definately recommend the multisyncs too if you can find one.  The Gateways are cool an all, great for low res PC use, but they don't have a wide enough scan range to really go balls out for emulation.  Unless you don't mind going non-native, then it's right up your alley.

I have a de-cased 27" Gateway in my newest MAME project. I love it. I'll tell you one thing, though. De-casing a monitor that size is a beast. Mounting it is even more of a beast. I imagine most people probably just stuff the whole thing into a cabinet.

I don't mind non-native resolutions so I don't need a multi-sync. I tend to run everything at 640x480 just to keep things simple for me.

The part that makes this things most attractive is the price.

I've been keeping an eye on these but I'm just looking for a 24" or so.
